Chantal Nadine Wolfelsperger

Ich bin am 31.05.1978 in Basel geboren. Seit Abschluss meiner KV-Lehre arbeite ich als Geschäftsleitungsassistentin in einem KMU in Basel. Meine Hobbies sind Flamenco tanzen, Lesen und Basteln. Vor 15 Jahren habe ich einen Kurs in Meeresbiologie in Vancouver, Kanada besucht, welcher mein Leben und meine Denkweise verändert hat. Das Land Kanada sowie seine Kultur interessieren mich seit vielen Jahren.

Ich bin eine sehr kreative Person und Basteln und Zeichnen hat schon immer eine wichtige Rolle in meinem Leben gespielt. Nachdem ein Arbeitskollege Vater geworden ist und ich ihm eine Babywiege gebastelt habe, hat er mich ermutigt, ein eigenes Bastellädeli zu eröffnen. Das Lädeli gibt es noch nicht, aber dafür seit 03.03.2019 mein eigenes Schmuck- und Bastellabel - Periquita.

Der Name Periquita ist zu Ehren meines heissgeliebten, leider verstorbenen Wellensittichs Clive (Wellensittich heisst auf Spanisch "Periquito") entstanden. In meinen Arbeiten binde ich alle meine Leidenschaften mit ein: Traumfänger aufgrund meiner Liebe zu Kanada, das Temperament und die Sprache Spaniens sowie den Flamenco, aber auch persönliche Ereignisse und Beziehungen. So sind gewisse Produkte nach lieben Menschen, gewissen erlebten Situationen oder besuchten Orten benannt.

Chantal Nadine Wolfelsperger

I was born on May 31^st 1978 in Basel, Switzerland. Since I have finished my professional education, I am working in a middle-sized company in Basel as an assistant to the general management. My hobbies are dancing flamenco, reading and doing handicrafts. 15 years ago I participated in a marine biology course in Vancouver, Canada which changed my life and way of thinking. I am very much interested in this country and its culture. Canada means something special to me.

I am a very creative person and drawing and doing handicrafts has always played an important role in my life. After one of my workmates became a father and I gave him a self made cradle, he motivated me to open up my own handicraft shop. The shop doesn't exist yet, but as from March 3, 2019 my own label - Periquita.

The Name «Periquita» goes back to my beloved budgie, who unfortunately died some years ago. Budgerigar means periquito in Spanish. In my work I involve all my passions: dreamcatchers refer to my love of Canada and its culture. I involve the colors and the spirit of Flamenco as well as the Spanish language. But there are also connections to experiences, memories and personal relationships. Therefore some products are named after beloved persons, some situations I experienced or places I visited.
